About Peggy

Peggy King Anderson

Peggy King Anderson has been writing stories for children for over 30 years. In 2013, she was awarded the SCBWI Lifetime Achievement Award. Her published books include Safe at Home, Coming Home, First Day Blues, and her co-authored book The Fall of the Red Star. In addition she has written four fiction series for Pockets Magazine, including her current series, Tree Frog Trail. Her new book, Two-Moon Journey is a story of her heart, based on her husband’s Native-American tribe and their forced removal from their homelands in the Great Lakes area in 1838. Peggy lives in Kirkland, Washington and when she's not writing you can find her counting turtles at her favorite park or roller skating with her grandchildren.

Projects

Peggy stays busy writing Tree Frog Trail, her monthly fiction series for Pockets Magazine. To check out this fun magazine for kids, go to Pockets.upperroom.org.   In addition, Peggy is always busy working on a book project. Besides her newly published Two-Moon Journey, Peggy is working on a chapter book for kids, The Secret of Dogtown Mine. She also has another middle grade novel in the revision stage, Finding Nonna.
Peggy loves doing school visits, and writing workshops for kids of all ages.
